• Leash rule (town): Dogs may not be “at large.” Off the owner’s property, they must be physically restrained by a leash not exceeding 6 feet (with narrow working-dog exceptions).

• Parks & off-leash areas: Town parks require leash ≤ 6 ft except inside a posted, fenced off-leash area; handlers must carry a leash and maintain voice control. Town park hours generally 7:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. (earlier seasonal opening).

• Dog licensing & rabies: Prescott Valley licenses dogs via DocuPet; all dogs 3+ months must have current rabies vaccination and a valid license. Yavapai County and the Sheriff’s Office reiterate the same requirement.
